When I was 5 I had an altar in my room and would do mass. I told my mother I wanted to be a priest when I grew up and she told me women cannot be priest. I remember being totally crushed. I did become a Sunday school teacher and Director of CCD at our church. Then on my 30th birthday (I’m 64 now), my brother gave me Marianne Williamson’s book, “A Return to Love”which changed my whole perspective, and I walked away from the church. I fancy myself a love priestess now, doing my best to spread the love of our Creator and working on those things in me that block that Love. My one rebellious act of freedom? I am 99% of the time braless. Blessings.

Thank you as always Maggie, this is invigorating reading ! I live this bit …. “Freedom is not loud. It is not cruel. It simply refuses to shrink. It refuses to ask permission of society” Wonderful. And needless to say, I believe in women priests !! 😂🙏🏽♥️

Oh I love this! I used to have a lot to say about freedom - we so imagine that we are free in the West but we (especially women) are so not. I'd love to talk about this on The Vicar And The Witch.

Thanks for all of it and all of you. x
